Sweet Dreams is a collaboration between my friend Paul Esteves and myself, with sound design coming from Eena Daou. We sat one evening and decided to create an oddly satisfying loop animation to post on social media. The reception was as unexpected as it was welcome. The loop was featured in multiple sites, social media, and accounts amounting to a couple dozen million views in total. To this day, I still see it pop around here and there. To me, this project signifies that sometimes less is more, and although it took just a couple of hours on our end to take this from conception to final render, even a simple execution can resonate with people in particular ways. I’ve heard both people saying it feels very relaxing, and people saying it feels very unsettling.
