The latest Cinema 4D R25 has a cool animated splashscreen! And the best part? You can customize it however you want... kind of. Read up on this neat trick and spice up your splash screen every time you have to restart C4D after a crash.

Hello! Today we’re customizing the splash screen for Cinema 4D R25. This also works for previous versions, but as far as I’ve tested, R25 is the only one that allows us to use a video. We’re going for this result:

I’m using a video I took of my dog, but you can just literally any .mp4 video you want.

Without further ado, just open an explorer window and go to:

📂 C:\Program Files\Maxon Cinema 4D R25\resource\modules\gui.module\images

Inside this folder, you will find a file called

Now just replace the original splash.mp4 with your own one. It’s that simple. Here is some info regarding the original file, to make sure yours is close - as it will work better the closer it is:

Resolution

1452x718 px

Size

3.14 MB

Length

0:02 seconds

HOWEVER if you do want to use the very cute .mp4 of Romeo that I made, feel free to download it here. Just replace the original splash.mp4 with this one. If you do use it, let me know! I’d love to see it.

⚠️ It’s always a good habit to rename the original file to something else instead of replacing it, just in case you ever need to go back to the defaults.
